Inkline II
Inkline II unfolds as black marks across a light ground, like a structure in theprocess of forming. Broad strokes, sometimes dense, sometimes tapering, extend, intersect, and break off, creating a composition held together more by internal tensions than by defined outlines. The white is not an empty backdrop; it moves between the forms, separating and connecting them, bringing a palpable sense of air and light.
The painting reads as rhythm. Lines advance, slow down, collide, and resume, preserving traces of the gesture, drips, revisions, layers of transparency. One senses the time of execution, the pauses and returns. While it may recall gestural abstraction, the energy here feels more organic, less confrontational, as if the forms were growing rather than striking.
Branches, trunks, and bifurcations seem to emerge without settling into image. The eye moves across the surface, finding anchors and then drifting away. Between structure and flow, Inkline II offers a direct, vibrant abstraction charged with quiet intensity.
