Still dancing

Grémio Literário. Lisbon, Portugal. March 10th to 28th 2026.

Still Dancing is a series of ceramic sculptures created in Lisbon 2024-2026.

The works of this exhibition are born from the silent language of the body – the fleeting poetry of dance movements captured in stillness. The artist is deeply inspired by the vision and illusion of dance, not only as a form of physical expression but as a pathway to understanding the complex landscape of our inner emotions. Through every curve, line, and sculpted gesture, she attempts to translate motion into form, transforming invisible feelings into tangible shapes. She always seeks to create works that resonate beyond the surface. Sculptures that breathe with emotion, evoke empathy, and invite viewers into a quiet dialogue with their own humanity.

«Art for me is also a form of regulation – a necessity. In shaping each sculpture, I shape my feelings too. The act of creation helps me navigate the weight of my emotions, giving them structure, rhythm, and release. Despite my lifelong search for perfection, my work has made me appreciate errors and omissions. Enhancing cracks by the Japanese tradition of Kintsugi, I learned to appreciate the faults of my sculptures as well as my own shortcomings in life».

“I chose to add three abstract paintings to conclude the exhibition. These paintings are derived from my deep fascination for black & white art in general, and Franz Klines art in particular. Therefore I chose the title Inkline. My paintings are more organic due to my former professional career for 10+ years working with trees and my general affection for nature. They also allude to movement which is the key aspect of my exhibition.”
